The EDA team offers years of experience in the field of space propulsion (electric propulsion and electrodynamic tethers) design and test, plasma diagnostics, and spacecraft systems to assist our clients. Previous projects have included:
- Designing an advanced 3.2-mm-class hollow cathode for a Low-Power Ion Thruster
- Conducting trade studies on Tether-Satellite systems
- Applying Cold Cathode Electron Emitters for space-based applications
- Assist in creating a User Survey for the Low-Power Ion Thruster System
- Experimentally and analytically characterizing bare-wired tether charged particle collection physics
- Pulsed Plasma Thruster modeling
- Conducting ground-based electric propulsion and electrodynamic tether testing design, develop, or implement experimental EP test facilities, diagnostics, or test plans
The expertise in the company also includes a range of modeling and analysis:
- Designing space propulsion systems including electric propulsion engines, electrodynamic tethers, and cathodes
- Developing thermal and plasma models for electric propulsion systems and ground testing facilities
- General vacuum chamber design and assembly. Pressure control systems design and assembly
- Experiment automation and control (voltages, currents, translation tables, base and constituent pressures, etc.)
- Instrumentation, data collection, and data analysis
- LabVIEW development
- Electrical interface design and construction
