Motivation
Need to understand fast-time transient nature of pulsed plasma source- Need to characterize interaction of cyclic driving pulse (pink) with high-voltage plasma source (green) and resultant plasma density (purple)
- Need to establish requirements for A/D conversions within measurement devices
Approach
- Experiments conducted using oscilloscope over wide range of operating conditions
- High-speed video camera used to capture visual data to validate extremes of plasma source transient behavior
- Analysis of measurement device limits to predict and avoid performance problems
Results
- Validation of accuracy of diagnostic techniques
- More informed operation of plasma sources
